To my way of thinking this is what kettlebelling is all about:

Take a heavy object, in this case a pood, and keep it moving in a natural way as the spirit moves you for a goodly time.  We can't all be roofers carrying bags of slag and tarpaper rolls up to the roof and mopping hot pitch with a double skein.  But we can achieve a similar level of fitness (minus the beer) by swinging a kettlebell freestyle like these nature lovers on the beach:

For my kettlebell workout, I put on some good music.  Every other song I do swings, , presses, farmer carries (just holding the damn thing with arms by your side), figure-eights, some wind mills, a little kettlebell juggling and the occasional Turkish get-up.
